Like many of our volunteers and board members, Maureen first came to the Jeely as a parent with her young children. She quickly became a volunteer play assistant and camp helper and being a strong community activist (particularly with children, young people and asylum seekers) Maureen was encouraged to join the Board of Directors and subsequent to that the Personnel and Development Committee. |

| Even as a single parent Maureen somehow found the time to dedicate time to her new role and with the help and support of the training and learning opportunities on offer within the Jeely, Maureen successfully completed SVQ2 and 3 in play work. She then went on to represent both the Jeely and Castlemilk at a Grass Roots conference held in South Africa.
Today Maureen continues her strong community work and was nominated for and won Castlemilks ‘Volunteer of the Year' award in 2007. As a result of all her hard work for the Jeely throughout the years, Maureen in now a self employed facilitator in personal development and SVQ Tutor/Assessor. |
