Adam Ingrim visits the Jeely

Scottish Minister visits to the Jeely Piece Club - Tuesday 14th August 2009

There was a real buzz about the place today as Children's Minister Adam Ingram made a special visit to the Jeely Piece Club.

The Children and Early Years Minister used his visit to officially announce a new Scottish Government £4m play programme ‘Go Play' to improve play opportunities among 5 to 13 year olds.

Jeely Director of Services Tracey Black said “Having the Children's Minister here has been fantastic for both the Minister and the visiting party to catch a glimpse of what we do and how well we do it – providing freeplay at its best!  It also provided an opportunity to discuss the real barriers voluntary organisations face in accessing funding, and how support from Pilotlight Scotland enabled the Jeely Piece Club to formulate strategic plans to sustain and develop the services it provides in light of these barriers.”
